1st December 2004

As I drove alone along the dimly lit backroads of Boulder I noticed the beauty of the empty night but realized that I did not possess the words to describe the incredible shades and shadows cast by the moon on the unnoticed clouds and frozen landscape. Perhaps I need to read more… or maybe I need a lesson in exquisite language from her.

I guess it should be noted that it has been two months since I quit abusing “substances”. Yay for me! (or something).

Here is a major issue (at least in my experience) that has bothered me for a while: why do most of the people I encounter pronounce Alzheimer’s Disease as “All-timers” disease, or worse “Old-timers”? It’s ALZHEIMER’S okay!? It’s named after the physician who identified two changes in brain tissue that are essential features of the disease that bears his name. When you say it wrong you mark yourself as ignorant and/or stupid. Please make an effort to get it right. You’ll make me far more happy–and as we know, my happiness determines what the economy will do this Christmas-season. Happy Holidays consumers.
