Law of Procrastination: Procrastination avoids boredom; one never has the feeling that there is nothing important to do.

Lately I have found myself attempting to integrate several pieces of Great Truths and philosophical ideas into my own small-scale unified theory of life. Not life in the biological sense of the word, but life as an ever-evolving web of personal interactions. The area on which I have been focusing of late is the concept of forgiveness.

For several months my concept of forgiveness had been clouded by anger, so I wrongfully concluded that it could not properly be integrated into my own philosophy. I mean, what good is it to give a free pass to people who have wronged you–being a doormat is no way to go through life. But in my emotionally-driven avoidance of logic, I overlooked one important fact: forgiving the actions of another does not automatically make you susceptible to them again. In other words, unlike trust, forgiveness does not have to be earned.

Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die.

I know it may seem egotistical or self-centered to believe that one person’s car-washing habits have any effect on the weather, but I can only conclude that I wield the power to make it rain.

Once you get past the “naughty factor” of talking openly about all aspects of sex and drugs, the late-night radio show Loveline has more substance than any other love/sex/relationship show, radio or otherwise. Host Dr. Drew is not your “love doctor” but instead is a board-certified physician and medical director of an addiction rehab clinic in Southern California. Comedian and co-host Adam Carolla’s comedy stylings are much more engaging and thought provoking than the occasional dick and fart jokes onto which detractors like to latch their criticisms. The most interesting thing about Loveline is that, although it is syndicated and heard across the country, there is no promotion of the show whatsoever. Until recently, Loveline did not even have an official website (!). But even without advertising the show has gone from a mere segment on a local radio show to a nationally syndicated underground hit nearly two decades later.

Since Loveline’s official web site has a dearth of content, several unofficial sites have been created. The best of these is : The Loveline Companion.

Today, I rediscovered a (not-too-sweet) confection that I have not had the pleasure of tasting since childhood:
Kasugai Peach Gummy
