Halloween used to be my signature holiday but too many things have conspired against me this year. Horrible weather, a drifting family, and personal angst have combined in such a way that I have written off this night–but I retain hope for better things tomorrow.
At least the weather suits my mood.

Thanks to the near-pointless ritual of “Daylight Savings” I have an extra hour to kill tonight. I shall spend this hour listening to music by Josephine The Singer, drinking Guinness and loathing myself for not making a choice to do something (anything) this dark and cold night.
“I think I’ll go out and embarrass myself
by getting drunk and falling down in the street
You say I choose sadness
that it never once has chosen me.”

I haven’t written here in awhile, but for good reason.
As you can probably tell, I’ve updated this site yet again. I grew tired of the blue motif of the first and second incarnations of Uniqueness-Template.
In addition to the change in look, I’ve added several new features, including: random quotations under the title, live headlines on the left and a live RSS feed of this site (via the “Syndicate” link at the top). As if that wasn’t enough, I rewrote all UBS code to be XHTML 1.0/1.1 compliant.
